This claim is 100% guaranteed, not marketing hype--stream counts during in-house testing of the G-RAID are calculated using a G-RAID filled to 80% capacity and incorporate a full seek from the first file to the last file on the drive. Experience 2 simultaneous video streams for 8/10 bit SD, 4 for DVCPRO HD, 5 for HDV, and 8 for DV25--this is the minimum guaranteed performance from a G-RAID.
